What our articles and guides do — and don't — do.
Effective date:
1. Educational only
All content on vellorephysio.com is written by qualified physiotherapists as educational information. It cannot replace a face-to-face assessment, diagnosis, or individualised management plan by a treating clinician.
2. No practitioner-patient relationship
Reading, sharing, or emailing us about our content does not by itself create a practitioner-patient relationship. That relationship begins only after a signed intake form and an in-person or telehealth assessment.
3. Emergencies
If you have chest pain, severe shortness of breath, sudden weakness, loss of consciousness, or any life-threatening symptom, call 108 (India) or your local emergency number immediately. Do not wait to message us.
4. Red flags for physiotherapy
- Numbness in the groin or loss of bladder/bowel control (cauda equina — go to ER).
- Progressive weakness in both legs.
- Unexplained fever with severe back pain.
- Recent significant trauma with inability to bear weight.
- Suspected fracture, dislocation, or open wound.
Seek emergency medical care first, then physiotherapy on clearance.
5. Do not self-diagnose
Two conditions can share the same symptom. Reversible causes (like disc protrusion) and serious causes (like tumour) can present similarly. An in-person exam is the only reliable way to know which you have.
6. No warranties
Content is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We update articles when guidelines change but cannot guarantee timeliness for every clinical situation.
