Our treatment approach
Hands-on joint mobilisation, soft-tissue release, myofascial work, and dry needling delivered by our senior therapists. Manual therapy is most useful in the first two to three weeks of care, when pain and guarding limit active movement. We use it to unlock range, calm irritated tissues, and give you a window to progress into loaded exercise. Every technique we choose is backed by peer-reviewed evidence and is always paired with an active home program — we do not treat manual therapy as a stand-alone or long-term dependency.
Individualised strength, mobility, and motor control programs designed around your goals — whether that is walking pain-free from Sathuvachari to Katpadi junction, returning to badminton at VIT, or lifting a grandchild at home. Every plan is printed and shared on WhatsApp so you can practice consistently between visits. We re-measure your key outcomes every two weeks and progress load, reps, or complexity based on your response, not on a fixed calendar schedule.
TENS, IFT, ultrasound, wax therapy, and heat/cold modalities used selectively when the evidence supports them for your condition. We do not run a fixed 10-session electrotherapy package for every patient — that model over-treats and under-recovers. Modalities are used as short-term adjuncts to reduce pain enough that you can move, strengthen, and reload the tissue that actually needs to heal. If a modality is not adding value after three sessions, we stop it.
Task-specific training, Bobath and PNF principles, LSVT-BIG for Parkinson's, vestibular rehabilitation for BPPV and balance disorders, and structured post-stroke retraining. Our neuro-rehab team works closely with the neurology units at CMC Vellore and Government Vellore Medical College, so referrals move quickly and reports flow both ways. We measure functional gains with validated tools — Berg Balance, TUG, 10-metre walk, and FIM — so progress is visible to you, your family, and your referring physician.

Vellore health context
Vellore sits in a semi-arid pocket of northern Tamil Nadu with hot summers, cool winter mornings, and a short but intense monsoon. That climate has a direct effect on musculoskeletal health. In April and May, patients arrive with dehydration-related muscle cramps, heat exhaustion, and fatigue-triggered flare-ups of chronic pain. In the December to February cool mornings, older adults with knee osteoarthritis, frozen shoulders, and rheumatoid arthritis report stiffer, more painful joints — the classic morning stiffness that eases as the day warms up. During the north-east monsoon, wet temple courtyards, slippery bathroom tiles, and uneven street surfaces cause a clear spike in falls, wrist fractures, and ankle sprains. Our seasonal care plans account for these patterns explicitly, from hydration coaching in summer to grip-training and micro-spike guidance for monsoon walkers.
The single biggest occupational health story in Vellore over the last decade is the rise of the IT corridor. Ranipet's SIPCOT industrial belt, VIT University's expanding staff base, and satellite offices in the Katpadi–Vellore stretch have created thousands of desk-bound jobs where none existed a generation ago. Add the acceleration of remote and hybrid work after 2020, and the result is a wave of postural neck pain, cervical radiculopathy, upper back tension, wrist and forearm overuse, and tension headaches. We routinely see IT professionals in their late twenties with the neck imaging findings of a fifty-year-old. Our workstation assessments cover screen height, chair support, keyboard placement, and — critically — how to break up long sitting bouts across a 10-hour day. For many patients this is the single change that keeps symptoms from returning.
Vellore's student population is another distinct demographic. VIT University alone brings tens of thousands of young adults from across India, most of whom spend long hours studying on hostel beds, sitting cross-legged on the floor, or hunched over laptops on low tables. Combine that with weekend gym experiments, unsupervised running, unfamiliar cricket and football pitches, and a diet transition from home cooking to hostel mess food, and you get a predictable pattern of low back strain, patellofemoral knee pain, shoulder impingement from bench pressing without form, and shin splints from too-fast running progression. CMC's own medical and nursing students bring an additional layer: long standing ward rounds, awkward patient-handling postures, and stress-driven headaches. We run tailored programs for these student groups, with evening slots and weekend clinics that fit college schedules.
